YES!

We were told by Sydney's AV that he was to get only 3 or 4 cheerios a week due to the high zinc content. Fine for us but not so fine for our fids.

Iron is pretty high too in most cold cereals.

my sun conure lovessss bagels.

I gave him a piece of shredded wheat (with the frosting side removed) the other day. He had fun with that, too.

i think all regular brand cerial has zinc. its ok to give a few, a couple times a week. you'd probably have to go to a natural food place to get cerial with out chemestry, and it would probably be expensive.

I didn`t know this about cereal. I`ve recently discovered my birds love Kashi, which I thought was all natural. Any thoughts on this? I better go check the label.

I only bought it for the birds because I thought it would be more nutritional for them than regular cereal. They really like it. My DH tried it the first time and hated it, then he tried it again when we were out of our other cereal, and now he likes the stuff! Go figure, just like a picky bird.
