I had Lasik about 2 and 1/2 years ago, and I was able to drive to work the next day without wearing my glasses!! I've been nearsighted since I was 6 years old (about 55 years).
It took about one hour for the whole procedure on both eyes (probably less, but with paperwork, etc...).
Only one drawback, which shouldn't affect you as it has me...I now need to wear reading glasses for close work. That is because I was almost 60 years old when I had the procedure done, and as you get older your eyes change, so that is what happened. The lasik doesn't stop the "age" process.
The good point though, is that the "age related" changes are changes on eyes that see 20/20, not on eyes that used to see 20/200, so my vision is still SOOOO MUCH better!
I am happy that I did it.
