Happy New Year to all of you and your flocks.

For the first time, my husband and I decided to stay in for New Year, and it was great. I'll reach 2005 before those of you in America (about 15 minutes from now!)

We ordered Indian food then watched a film (Garden State - made me cry) in bed. Humphrey spent the time mountaineering all over the bed covers, and when he got sick of that, flew up and perched atop my head for the remainder of the film. Glad to be in bed with my dear flock.

I also talked to my mom in Philly and she said that the bought Corbett a new toy. She is always trying new toys for him, but Corbett is RARELY interested in toys - he's wild caught AND a rescue. With this toy my mom started playing with it and Corbett was so intrigued he came out of his cage to play. This is unlike Corbett and such a happy thing. It's so lovely to hear of dear Corbett enjoying life. He just had to have a try of this toy!

Enjoyed a wonderful evening with some dear friends. Our host is in end stage cancer and was, quite frankly, fortunate to have been able to attend his own party. We dined on lobster tails, steamed shrimp and oysters and wonderful side dishes. The desserts were to die for and had the bubbly not been so good, I'd have probably tried a few. That having been said, crime doesn't pay and my headache is of mammoth proportions. I shall be spending the day pleading with the fildren to keep it down and listening to them laugh back at me.
