I've been "you tubing!" lol (one of my favorite things to do online!)
I know a lot of petstores are going to microchips for birds and a lot still use the regular bands on the leg. But in this video there is a small ball hanging from the birds foot. I've never seen this. Is it a different type of identification band? It doesn't seem safe to me. . . . couldn't if easily get caught on a toy or something? It was just really puzzeling to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcqoV...elated&search= Kris |

In some countries, people don't use cages for their birds... instead, they get a stand, or playgym of some sort... and tie the bird down... literally! And sadly, it's a common practice that many take a part in... Hong Kong is one of those countries that tie birds down... not every bird owner does... but it is mainly geared to medium to large parrots... and that lory IS from Hong Kong....
Here's an alexandrian from hong kong... http://www.molon.de/galleries/China/...img.php?pic=10 A cockatoo http://www.pbase.com/500fan/image/23713333 Mini macaw and derbyan parakeet? http://www.pbase.com/500fan/image/23732818 Guess what this amazon is playing with probably??? http://www.pbase.com/500fan/image/23732818 This practice is also done in Singapore
