The 57' Chevy was a new car not a collectors.
If I only knew today what I knew then I would be rich if I sold the cars I had.

Drag racing on the back roads? My 69 Cobra Jet 428 Mach I. Also won a few trophys at a legal strip. Remember slicks? Tried them at the stip and I lost big time...never did that again.

As ya found out though, for slicks to be truly effective, ya gotta have horsepower & torque out the waz..way more than mildly tweaked 428CJ.

A good ROT is if yer not puttin out 4 digit HP to the rear wheels, don't even think of usin slicks...

I have a bunch of 8 tracks too. Matter of fact, last weekend I came across an old 8 track cassette adapter I had in a box. I tell my kids that I'm leaving the 8 tracks for the grandkids. Our one son keps tell my wife & I that it's the 2000s now, can we at least get into the 1900s. We still have an old console stereo which we use to play our old records. He also threatens to call one of those TV shows next time we go away and clean out & redo our place!

Had a Corvair for a short time....I liked it no matter what Ralph says!

Yup, and the tube testers..take out the tube mark it and the socket so you'd get them in the right place..down to the drug store..test the tubes..buy replacements and go home and install them and hope it worked!

I was sitting eating my breakfast at 5:30am this morning , watching TV and remembering when the TV station did not come on untill around 10am, and then we only had 2 channels!! Back then the stations went off air around 11:30ish pm.
Popsicals were 20 cents (nz) ans smokes were $1.75 a packet, now there are $12 , glad I gave up!!
My husband and I were talking last night about how far video games have come. Over here they are bringing out playstation 3, how can you get much more realistic than PS1??

Remember when cellphones were the size of bricks, and video machines were the gadget to have!!

God now I feel old!!

Perchance the International Union of the PolyVinyl Chloride Recording Workers made a deal with the Brotherhood of the 45 RPM Adaptor Workers to make sure that their jobs were secure

OMG this brings back memories Found several boxes of 'em tucked into an old player in the garage after I read this post today (yes, next to the box with the 8-track tapes ). The "squishy" multi-colored ones, a couple solid brown ones and 2 stackable ones that fit on the spindle for use with multiple 45's

Thought about letting the birds destroy the squishy ones, but who knows what chemicals went into the making of them that many years ago

Remember the 78's that were inserted in mailings and magazines? Never played without skipping and chewed needles up like crazy. Oh, and then there's the literally heavy classic 16's. Hmmmmm... Methinks an EBAY sale is in order.....

Brad & Flock (gotta work on my siggy this weekend)
