I am 35 and my youngest is 8. She came home from school yesterday and asked me for some stuff from the "Olden Days" for a school project !!!

I feel old when my children class my childhood as the olden days.

Don't feel too bad...... I knew I was getting old when my daughter came home from school, she was a junior at the time, and her english teacher told her that I must have been part of the hippie movement!

i remember when in the early 70's milk was 69 cents then early 80's it went to 99 cents a gal. remember all the different 1-5 cent candies. being able to walk all over the place w/out worry of being messed with. plaids were in.

Oh yes, sit ins...Participated in more than I can remember.
The March on Washington...went in the back of a u-Haul with 30 or so others.
And...who else went to Woodstock?

Our youngest, when he was little, asked me if dinosaurs were around when I was a little boy!!!!

Or you could have put one of these on the spindle....

And remember after the 8 track..the "new" way of listening to music..cassette....but you couldn't listen to them with your 8 track unless you had one of these adapters..

Now if they'll just come out with something that'll play LPs, 45s, 8 tracks, cassettes and CDs..just an all in one unit that plays everything.

Don't you remember
The fizz in a pepper
Peanuts in a bottle
At ten, two and four
A fried bologna sandwich
With mayo and tomato
Sittin' round the table
Don't happen much anymore

We've gotten too complicated
It's all way over-rated
I like the old and out-dated
Way of life

Back when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when

I love my records
Black, shiny vinyl
Clicks and pops
And white noise
Man they sounded fine
I had my favorite stations
The ones that played them all
Country, soul and rock-and-roll
What happened to those times?

I'm readin' Street Slang For Dummies
Cause they put pop in my country
I want more for my money
The way it was back then

Back when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when

Give me a flat top for strumming
I want the whole world a humming
Who just keep it coming
The way it was back then

Back when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when
