A Pet PIG!?
One of the families at our church as a 4 yo daughter. Well, she wanted me to come to her birthday party yesterday. And you know what she got? A PET PIG! Not a potbelly, the one like Wilbur form Charlotte's Web. She is adorable' all pink and tiny. However, when I heard her scream, it was loud! And she is messy, but still cute
Does anybody else out there have a pet pig? I don't know if I want one, but they sure a cute ![]()

I once had a neighbor that had one. It was cute like a puppy when it was little and was even pottytrained. My dog took one look at it and decided she didn't like it so she barked everytime it was out in the yard. It eventually became 200 lbs and not so adorable. Pigs like Wilbur and Babe are very cute-on a farm. Otherwise, their days are numbered.

Yea, I don't think I would want one... 200lb is a TON! The one the little girl got is going to weigh 600!

I'd have to agree... probably a bad pig cause they don't know what they just got themselves into!
On that same note, there was a story on TV of a guy and his wife you bought a pet pig... Pig was so well trained that he knew more tricks than all the dogs owned by the guys at work! I've heard they can be excellent pets if you train them... but I've never met a pet pig!

Pigs are HIGHLY intelligent creatures.
I've never had one as a pet but grew up near farms and often played with the babies. They can be aggressive, though -- I've been bit a few times when an adolescent piggie thought I was too close to the trough! An acquaintance of mine lived on some acreage. Her parents would take on a dozen or so pigs to fatten up for slaughter. It was always kind of sad visiting the piggies... They took GREAT care of them but I would never eat bacon or sausage from their house :( -e-
