Angry the petstore made me angry

Okay so most of you know how long I've been waiting on my TAG to be born. The pet store promised a TAG would be hatched by early Spring and I was to get the first available. (I've been waiting since Late October of last year.) And so far I think I've been pretty patient. I called the pet store today to see if they were closer to a date. Is there anything wrong with that? It’s not like I call everyday!

My convo went a little like this:

Me: Hello, I was just calling to see if you guys had gotten a date for the next available Timneh. I’m suppose to get the first one available.

birdguy: well you do understand that birds are bred NOT manufactured. Don’t you??

Me: umm well yes I do understand that, but I was just checking in with you guys to see if indeed you did have better estimated time/date.

birdguy: ohh yeaaa sure we’ve tried wine and roses and the works. but you can’t force Greys to breed. You’re going to have to be patient.

me: yes, I think I have been very patient so far.

birdguy: it’ll be atleast 3 more weeks.

After I hung up I was just kind of puzzled. "did that just happen? was he REALLY just that rude to me!" I mean come on! I did't deserve that did I? After this I don't know if I want to infact buy a bird from them. The only reason why I've waiting so long and stuck with them was because they are so reputable in my area.

Am I over reacting? Or would this make you really angry as well.

Kris

you could go with blonde way in talking with them. so that he's left with the same thought. its just my way of dealing with these type of people. as if duh like my response to their being bred and not manfactured: what do ya mean not made? and the date thing could go like this: when would they be manufractured? im a truckers wife,so i know people can be so stupid. just go to a truck stop and watch 90% of the fools out there back a semi up. and the best one my hubby told me about was a guy asked him where the gas tanks were on the semi.

No others that I know of. My boyfriend just called them after I told him what the guy said. (he was furious as well) He spoke with the man I had spoken with. He said that he was trying to joke around with me. That's a big WHATEVER from me! He didn't sound joking plus he was prolly afraid of my big muscular boyfriend. LMAO

Well actually, I would never buy a bird hatched out of season, to me it means the "breeder" really doesnt respect the bird by having them crank out babies all year long. Then you have unhealthy parents and chicks getting off to a bad start. Breeding season is spring/summer. I don't know the exact incubation time, but figure say, a month. So depending on his definition of early spring that could be March/April which imo is too early. If a baby is actually hatched "early" spring I would get the details.

The guy doesnt know what he's talking about and doesnt want your business, find a compassionate informed dedicated person. I would see if any birds in your state are in rescue looking for good homes and I wouldnt do business with that store.

I suggest you read the thread called My Scrawny Severe about Cosmo who was fed by a "handfeeder" aka bird broker who apparently didnt know what she was doing or care about him either. It's under Macaws.
