"The Boy Who Drew Birds: A Story of John James Audubon," by Jacqueline Davies, illustrated by Melissa Sweet (Houghton Mifflin, 32 pp., $15, ages 5-9), covers Audubon's early life, as well as his first year in America, a time when he began nurturing his love for birds. Young Audubon even devised a banding technique that helped him to understand how small birds migrated. Children should find Sweet's paintings and collages exceptionally appealing.

WOW! Thanks for the warm welcome. I've missed all of you too. I'll make it a point to post more regularly. Life has just been hectic the past few months. It would take me all day to tell you all everything.. lolol. Plus, at work they put a key logger on everyone's computer so I can't do anything during the day any longer.

I see there are ALOT of new members, thats GREAT! The board is really hopping.

Happy New Years!

Jill
