Why is this board banned at my work now?

I used to be able to access your website easily from work, ever since your site crashed I have been getting a notice that my employer has blocked access. They normally only block obscene websites or possibly those where a virus originated. So I am wondering if the crash was caused by a virus. About a week after you crashed, my home computer crashed and I had to have my hard drive restored. Has anyone else gotten a virus about that time.

I think that many of us had all kinds of computer problems just before and just after the crash. My computer was loading the Birdboard over and over again until I had to unplug it. I'm no computer wiz, so I just trial and errored my way back.

Have you tried to access it within the last week? I think that many of the bugs have been worked out now.

OK, first off:

We did not crash because of a virus. We simply had a hard drive failure. It happens. Secondly, the crashing of home computers more than likely had nothing to do with birdboard. And Thirdly, they might have blocked access to the site because this server also hosts some adult material. The adult material has nothing to do with me or birdboard, but it is on this server. So, that's probably what they did. Of course, it might not be. You should maybe go ask and see.

I know you are a computer wiz, so may I ask you this: how come only the Birdboard continued to load and reload over and over again. Any time I tried to read private messages or reply to posts, it would load and reload ad nauseam. I didn't have this happen on any other site.

That was probably something with our end. The forum is run with templates. If I were to accidentally place reload code in the header.tpl file, then every single page of the site would reload reload reload. That was probably the site. But hard drive crashes on somebody's computer, I assure you, were not because of the site.

That explains it-about the adult material hosted by other people on your server. Because I am a member of several chat groups and travel oriented forums as well and I can access those at work. It is just really frustrating because it cuts back on how active I can be on the board-work has broadband, at home I only have dial up prepaid and it is very slow. The ISP is trying to force everyone to subscribe to broadband by giving the lousy service on dial up. Too difficult to switch ISP's as I have too many contacts now.

No, you didn't seem rude at all. I'm just not very savvy in the techno stuff and really just wanted to satisfy my curiosity. Thanks. It makes perfect sense :D .

Just a thought, but have you tried deleting cookies??? To delete internet cookies, go to Tools (on your toolbar), then down to Internet Options and under the General tab, you look at Temporary Internet Files and there should be a button that says Delete Cookies... Course I am using Internet Explorer, and not sure how it may be if someone else is using some other program to view sites (such as netscapes). Tis just a thought, and I hope it helps!
