Moving...

So, we're moving on Tueday. It's Saturday, which means the last few days have been a mass of boxes, tape, and stress! Poor Humphrey knows that something is going on - he looks bemused and confused, and isn't coming out of his cage as much. Poor baby! Wish us luck!

Well, we've done it. Everything is still in boxes and we have to clean the old place (in hopes of getting the deposit back from evil landlord) but we have now moved. I won't have internet access at home for a few days...oh, the withdrawal.

The nice thing is that Humphrey seems to have settled in well. However, he is being extra clingy with us. Always flying after us and landing on my head, chest, shoulder as soon as we walk away from him. Poor baby - he's had an upheaval. I have a cute pic of him 'helping' us pack (in other words, using all the boxes as his personal climbing playground) which I will post soon! We sat down in front of the tv with a glass of wine last night for a break, and Humph flew over, landed on my husband's shoulder, then climbed over and visited me, on my lap. My little sweetie.

My husband was panicking because in the new building they test the fire alarms every wednesday morning. My husband was afraid Humphrey would panic and break a wing or something. So I stayed home today while it happened and Humph didn't flinch. That got me thinking - compare my husband's love and worry for Humphrey with that B*&^%$ who glued that macaw's beak shut...

Talk to you all in a few days!

I have heard of people getting back their deposits. My mom had all of hers returned to her when we lived in a 3 bdrm. The last place we lived at, we didn't clean up so well, so we knew we weren't getting the deposit back. I didn't care, we hated the apartment manager.

I have managed to get 5 deposits back and hubby got 1 from the apartment we had. My sister has never gotten one back, because she usually leaves things awful.

I am so glad that your move went well, and wish you luck settling in.
