Nah, but thanks. I just never bothered to look it up since last year. My belief is that the shelter that is on the county line with PETA requested PETA to take those animals because they were next up for euthanasia. I don't remember the condition of the animals but they were going to be put down in the gas chamber I think I remember.

The whole business of animal overpopulation is very ugly. Nobody wants to euthanize any of the animals but nobody wants to know the truth about how many thousands are put down for no good reason. And nobody wants to pay for their care, either.

Meanwhile many people still wont adopt from shelters insisting those animals are damaged goods. I really don't know where it's all headed and one thing we can agree on, it's just so sad.

Interesting, that Andrea Press chick cannot be located on google at least the first three pages, then I got bored looking. Same with "Resp. Dog Owner of East. States" org. No sign of them. Only the quote about PETA came up in 4 pages of google.

I say its a fake group made up just to be anti activist. I did find a group "...of Western States" that seems to be hunters or something. hrmph ! LOL

OK, so you made me curious lol. Actually it wasnt a judge dismissing anything. It was a jury trial and it came back NOT GUILTY. Only guilty of improper disposal of the bodies.

I'd love to know the shelter's excuse for HOW the animals were handed over in the dead of night legally. The prosecutor was trying to say the girl obtained them under false pretenses...like the shelter would adopt out a bunch of sick animals in a group of 10-20 just like that. Yeah, right.

I'm not saying it made sense for those two kids to dump bodies. But the whole thing to me is a microcosm of a huge big picture.

Just tonight on the news in Phila we had a ton of pit bulls rescued from a drug and fighting den. They could hardly walk. When they aren't "game" they starve them outside or use them for bait. I guarantee you there are thousands of pit bulls in downtown Phila suffering that way. Pathetic. And probably this whole bunch will be put down. Unless the public outrage saves them and people adopt them.

Can't really say why people take things out of context so... they will read one thing and say another, putting it far out of context as if putting words in our mouths....

As for the animals being put down... well it would have been nice if it was done so more humane like.... and properly disposing of the animals bodies. Yeah, it's sick how many will kill animals, but IMO overpopulation of animals is due to a lack of laws here in the states, about pet keeping.. and I know many wouldn't enjoy the idea of others telling them HOW to care for their pets, but something has to be done...

some ppl who dont live over here might think that wot went on in northern ireland was necessary but they dont have to live through it and dont know nothing bout that, just have to say that, dont know why that was brought into a bird forum so i wont say anymore bout it

I am an animal lover, but I draw the line at someone telling me what I can and can't do with animals. I never abuse my pets, EVER. I have working animals such as horses, goats, and such. I also own animals dedicated to ending up on my table as food.

We were given dominion over beast and fowl...not the other way around.

If I ever see someone abusing an animal, I'll come to the rescue. If they have pets they had better be taking care of them. If they are used for food, make sure that they are well taken care of, fed and watered daily, etc.

My wife cringes when I tell her that PETA should really stand for People Eating Tasty Animals!
