It does look similar to an eastern box turtle... and if it is an eastern box turtle it's probably a female?

Turtle Diet

If it is a box turtle, (is there a hinge on the bottom shell?), then it will eat fruit, veggies and meat. And by meat I mean things like worms, large bugs like meal worms, crickets, and even small fish. But take care not to feed it iceberg lettice. Thats a no-no as it will cause diarea, just like with birds. But romain lettice is ok.
