Angry I got banned from MT!!

Unbelievable!! I have posted a bunch over there and never had any trouble, until now. I'm buying a RFM in another year or so, and I've been going to MT (over at birdsnways) for info.

Well, a few days ago I posted something about a website I go to that I thought other members might be interested in. The admin e-mailed later to tell me that my post was not allowed and she had deleted it. I couldn't find what rule I had violated, becuase there isn't anything on the terms page that says you can't post about other website (other members do it all the time) so I e-mailed the admin back, asking her to clarify so that I wouldn't post anything wrong again inadvertantly. Meanwhile I got home from work that morning and found out my kitten was sick. I rushed him to the vet, where I was told that his case is pretty hopeless (he has leukemia) and my options were to shell out huge bucks for treatment that might not even work (in the hospital, where my kitty would spend his last days terrified, being poked with needles by strange people) or I could take him home with some meds and see what happens. My fiance lost his job recently, so we took the second option. I was feeling terribly guilty for makiing that decision, even though is was the right one and only partially based on money, so I put a note on MT asking for prayers for my kitty. The admin wrote the *rudest* note in response, basically reaming me a new one for posting off topic (which, as I said, other members do all the time) and telling me that I was rude and insulting and that she was going to ban me. I wrote back to defend myself (since she implied that I wasn't treating my kitty at the hospital because I just didn't want to bother to find a way to pay for it) and she said I was insulting her and banned me!!!

*sigh* So besides losing my poor kitty, I'm losing a really good source of macaw info. At least I still have this board, where people are more friendly!

Thumbs down Mytoos

There are some real jerks on mytoos and that is why they dont have any members that post.

They only want to hear what agrees with what they think even if what they think is wrong or just downright stupid.

Most of the members over there have paid for toos, sold their toos, dumped their toos and are in the process of getting more toos.

And they have the gall to bash people that are looking for information about if a too is right for them or not.

That board is full of nasty old hags that get their cookies off on trashing people that need help and anyone that gives that help.

(and yes i hope one of you losers reads this and tells the other hags on my toos about it(can you say midol and hormone shots?))

John

I'm talking about 'macaw talk' over at birdsnways, not mytoos.

Kinda lets you realise how lucky we are to have this site... I do'nt think I've seen a single cross word here... and if we might disagree sometime the comments are always made with care and reason...
personally I'm so glad I found this place....

Don't worry your pretty little head. Unfortunately, there are a few on MT who have delusions of granduer. However, you'll be pleased to know that right HERE on BB, we are getting none other than Wendy Craig of Wendy's Parrots to be our own resident Macaw expert. And, NO ONE knows more about RFs than her. In fact, you've hit the jackpot.

I am sorry you had to find out how rude they could be, that way. I am terribly sorry about your kitty. I do believe he will be happier in his last days being at home though. Hugs to you.

So glad we have this board. Atleast everyone here understands that we are all human and there is more to life than sticking to the subject. Sometimes we all have to stop and think, "What if it were me in that situation?"

Having an open mind is one of the best virtues a person can have, in my opinion.

Hi Victoria,
I generally check out MT but rarely post. It seems that when I did post I was treated as if I was an idiot. I have been raising birds since the 80's. I don't know everything but I'm not stupid either. I went there when I got my first Macaw. Never had one so I thought I would read up and learn as much as possible. I did read your post and was very sad for your loss. Sometimes we have to make decisions that we don't like. I thought you made the right one for you and your kitten. Don't let anyone make you feelbad about it. Some but not all on MT are just alittle (alot) full of themselves. The Administrator espesially (sp). If you need info there are alot of us out here who are willing to help you. And if this site is getting Wendy, who needs MT?
