Picture question

On May 31th I have an appointement to take my senior pictures and I was wondering if anybody has ever done this with their school: taken their fids and posed with them? I plan on taking Maxy and Nimbus with me on that day but I don't know if I should or if I shouldn't. Maxy is ok with me but I don't know how she will do while taking a picture and I know Nimbus will stay still because he just loves to stay on my shoulder. I wanted to take the cat but I know she won't stay still and she would probably get agravated. I would take my dog but he won't behave with people around and he would be peeing everywere. I could take Nimbus on the leash but all he does is make a fuss and tries to take it off. Any suggestions? I know we can take our animals because a friend of mine took her dog with her and took pictures with her.

My HS was BORING when it came time for senior portraits. For the girls, it was the following: black top with rose or black top without; the latter appeared in the yearbook. Then white gown holding cap, white gown w/o cap... SO blah.

Double check that you are indeed allowed to bring a pet with you. If so, find out WHERE the photos are being taken. Back a million years ago our photos were taken on the stage in the auditorium. Definitely not a safe place for a bird to be loose, assuming that your bird is flighted.

If the photos are being taken in a small classroom (where someone can watch the door to prevent an accidental escape) or at a private studio, you should be fine. Otherwise, check w/ your local pet stores or photography studies. Sometimes they offer affordable packages for pets and their humans :)

Best of luck,

Yes I am sure we can take pictures with our pets because as I said before my friend took pictures with her dog and also in the letter they send, they show a girl's picture with her two dogs. I think it will be done in the auditorium but I know its safe because my birds are not flighted and they tend to stay on my shoulder. I know they can still fly with their wings clipped but they don't tend to fly as much when they know I clipped them. They will only come out of their cage when its picture time and they will go right back in. My dad will probably be with me and my birds tend to behave more for him than they do for me. I want to take it here because I think its fairly cheap. Its only like $30 for about an hours time of pictures and with different styles including with pet. I will still ask though....

I think it's a great idea and something you will enjoy sharing with your grandkids some day!

BTW, I see you also have birds with Mayan names!

Tiki- Yes Yoltzin means little heart in Nauhtl and Coaxoch means serpeant flower. I posted in the Budgie section why I named them that...LOL

Thanks everyone I hope they don't freak out. I think they won't thought because I take a camera and take pictures of them and they don't freak with the flash. I am in a good start.

a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, our pictures were b&w and you better have a white shirt on, and a fresh haircut. no body got an hour for different poses, ya just lined up, click, next, click, next, click, and so on. it only took an hour for the whole class. many years later, i saw a neighbor kids pics. they were in color, and they got to pick from different backgrounds to go with what they were wearing. quite a change, but i never heard of them letting you pose with your pet. we've come a long way.

Think you must be close to my age Royjoy....mine were color and my school was quite advanced in that we did not all have to wear the same thing (I'm not being sarcastic, it was unusual), but it was one right after the other -- like em or leave em! Brave new world we live in!
