I haven't seen reports about the Yagntzee River Dolphin - how sad!

There will be many more extinct species before it is over.

I hadn't heard that yet. I'm sure there are species we haven't even discovered yet that are in peril. Sad.

The bald eagle is a bunch of hoo hah, the bush administation has the lowest ammount of endangered animals listed and those who are listed as protected were brought about by lawsuits. Bush just had them taken off the endangered list so they could log or mine for oil in their habitats. It's really tragic, I'm not trying to scream politics here for Yay bush or Nay Bush, but politics has a lot to do with who gets protection from poachers and who doesn't as well as supply and demand. I mean...the rain forest is now protected because of our oxygen supply being threatened. The Clinton and the Prior bush administration had the highest number of protected species acts passed in recent history, but with the new administration there's only 75-78 animals left on that list. If more political canidates out there paid attention to our enviorment, maybe there'd be less extinctions around the world?

your probably right Tinna!! the yangtzee river is heavily poluted and busy from big industry so the dolphins probably didnt have a chance of getting any real protection, its so sad,it said in the news that they are the first species of dolphin to become extinct as a direct result of mans activity.

I'm amazed that it's taken them that long to kill their dolphins off, if they're not all dead they probably migrated out of that habitat into the sea where I'm hoping they're better off.
