Parrot BirdBoard Matchmaker?
I was thinking that with all the gathered experience in this group we could maybe come up with proper … profiles.
Hmmm, haven’t even started this thought and I am running into problems already trying to ‘splain. Can we come up with a list (something like those matchmaking places) of questions to be answered by prospective Parrot owners, to match them to their “perfect” Parrot? I am thinking of all kinds of criteria to be added in the list of questions to ensure a proper match to the lifestyle and personality and financial as well as stability of the prospective Parrot owner. We can make it a 50 or more question survey or whatnot. Plus … would it help (be interesting) if we compiled a list of commonalities between … say CAG owners compared to Sennie owners, or what is the percentage of what particular combination of birds in a particular household. What are the most common pairings of species in households and what are the rarest. You know what I mean? How would we go about doing something like this and would it be worth it? Would anyone be interested in participating in a … say ... survey, and would anyone be interested in making said survey (hey, I just come up with this stuff)? Just some stuff rattling about in my head. Watcha think? Any of this worthwhile? Maybe one of our resident computer GODS can even make a program that will make the matches to our questions and incorporate it into the site. How’s about them apples? Heh?

Graeh, do you mean something to analyze a person and tell what kind of parrot would most suit their personality? I think that sounds like a great idea!

Oh Geees...... :eusa_wall There was something on a bird list recently where you answered a number of questions and it told you what kind of parrot you were.... not exactly what you're looking for but :icon_eek:

Possible but would take some time figuring out the almost mathmatical equation for it.... and giving all the variables of (if, or, and) statements to a persons situation, needs, and wants.

Maybe we could adapt a Cosmo quiz which reveals your personality (except I haven't read Cosmo in AGES, used to love their quizes). Then if we could group parrots into personality groups like 1. Funny, amusing clownish 2. Love sponges, craves attention (cockatoos) 3. Quiet, doesn't need much attention 4. Highly intelligent ?????? Some birds would have more than one category though, I can see cockatiels in 1,2 and 4.
