Just for fun I thought I would see what birds are worth in different parts of the world. I know this will leave me miserable knowing what wonderful babies are out there but I just thought it would be interesting . Ill start
I currently own 2 sulpher crested cockatoos which retail in Melbourne Australia for around $300.00 australian each for a baby. I also have 6 H/R lorikeets which retail at about $200.00 each. I also have one male eclectus about $800.00 each , 2 galahs about $100.00 each 13 tame cockateils about $60.00 each , 7 tame budgies about $20.00 each , a pair of kings about $300.00 the pair and a pair of regents about $250.00 a pair and lastly I am currently negotiationg on a blue and gold H/R baby which will set me back about $7500.00. Now remember that all these prices are in Aussie dollars so you could almost halve them and it would be US. Knock yourselves out and remember me at home reading this and crying thanks Michelle ![]() |

hello from Bridgeville, Delaware. I have been shopping around in my area for larger birds, and the cost of them are pretty high. Cockatoos around here sell for around $1000.00. and some even more. I have my eye on a africian gray, and he's going for $1200.00. I have a male pied cockateil, paid $75.00 for him. 3 parakeets,$20.00 each, and a sun conure which cost $600.00. The mark up on these birds around here is crazy, I would seriously like to know what these owners are making off each bird...! :icon_eek:

Well, this ought to be interesting!
Two bourkes, retail about $25-50 (one given, the other a daughter from pair that is now gone) Two Budgies, retail about $13-20 (both given to me) Two cockatiels, retail from $60-150??? (both mutations, though one is handraised and a sweety! the h/r one was a 'gift' though the untamed one was also given to me) Cherry Head Conure, retail $300 (also given to me) I got the cherry head, one of the budgies, and one of the bourkes with most, if not all, of their supplies (including cages, food, dishes, magazines, perches, etc). Of course each and every bird has it's own unique story, and all prices are in USD...
