Worried about Hubby

He was kicked in the shin just below the knee a week ago. He has been limping and complaining buy says and seemed to be getting better. Swelling went down and he has been working (on his feet) and walking all week albeit limping a bit.
But today he started saying his heel hurts on the same leg and tonight we notice his whole ankle is turning black and blue and starting to swell and he is in pain. He wont go to the ER. I worry about a blood clot.

If he wont go to ER, will he go to regular appointment on Monday? You need to explain this could be very serious.

Ya, I called his son (paramedic and Firehouse Leiutentant) and he said get it checked. I will call our doc Monday if the bruising is still or worse but the care 24 nurse scared me with the whole blood clot thing. He is turning 54 in a few months so he isnt a young pup either.

Oh my! If it's turning black, he needs to get to the doctor. That may be a hematoma...pretty serious.
You can do what I did to my dad when he refused to go to the hospital one time. I said, "Fine. I can either take you or I'm calling 911" Pick one.

Needless to say, we went to the hospital.

Ok update. So he wakes me up this morning and says its time to go. We drive 1/2 hour to the Urgent care (cause its only $20 co pay) and they take xrays and say no broken bones but could be a blood clot so another 45 minute drive to the ER for an ultrasound which of coure the ER takes FOR_EV_ER and he was about to leave. They did and ultrasound from his groin to his ankle and find nothing. So we are home and thats it. Rest with foot up. I guess its all good. But now we have tornadoes around - hope we dont have to run to the neighbors basement!
