I just got back from a parade that was held for some NJ soldiers that have just returned from Iraq.
Did I know anyone? NO..Did it matter if I did? NO.
I know what it means to a soldier to be welcomed home....to let them know we support them...
Why? because of my husband and son who Serve.
It was hard to hold emotions in as you watched these brave men and women walking down the road,in thier crisp, clean desert BDU's........ and thier families crying and running twards them...They had police on Motorcycles and Horses. Fire trucks, police cars(from every township that had a soldier serving), hummers, and a helicopter (OH-58 Military)circling. All news channels from Pa were there as well as Channel 4 from NY. It was a site to behold, and be proud of.
It was a celebration worthy of America' bravest.
Welcome home to the New Jersey National Guard 3rd Battalion.......
