Work in progress! Feathers!! PICS

Calypso asked me while he was resting yesterday if I might take his picture to let you all know he is working on his fears and getting over his past. He is enjoying scratches on the head and under the wings. He loves a shower outside and to be with his new "flock". He is though however very tired of babysitting Baby Parrotlets and responds by yelling "Shut UUUp Up Up!" He likes to go on car rides and his new Bedtime perch in the bedroom with the family is the best. He says the cage he stays in all day kinda sucks but he knows its for his own safety.
The first Pic is the one off of PETFINDERS when you all found him on his way "to birdie heaven" as it was worded He is the one on the right of course.

His mate the B&G found a new home as well but I dont know where.
The next is just as he begins to get some new pins...

And then the last which was just before bed last night.

Thank you everyone who had whearwithall to scream about his situation on here. Thanks for the forum. It saved his life and he is a huge part of mine now. If you ever see a bird in a desperate situation no matter how tacky it sounds - share it with us. It could save a life...or in this case...TWO!

Wow! Congratulations on your amazing improvement with your bird! May I ask what methods you employed to help with the feather plucking?

Thank you! :D And Congrats again!!!!

You have made a tremendous difference in Calypso's life. I imagine he feels like he won the lottery and is living off the riches.

I didnt do anything special. When I get a bird (or any animal) I do the best I can to meet the needs of the species. What country does it come from. What did God create his body to eat? How does he live in his flock? Then I take what God gave me and do the best I can. I Cally's case, he was a spoiled pet for 30 years. His owner who raised him from an egg died. He was then recieved by someone with breeding intentions. 10 years of no results and the plucking. He only knows how to be a PET. He really enjoyed being with a "human" flock. i gave that back. I feed him the best I can with what HE NEEDS and what I have. We keep him NEAR us as much as possible but do not spoil him. Simple things like his new bedtime perch. he wont leave his perch so now he has a perch in our room instead of his cage. He spends our workday in his "safe" cage and then he comes out until the next day. He shares our healthy food.
