Please pray that I find a job soon!!!

I NEED A JOB!!! My grandparents own a sod farm and I have been working for them for the past 11 years in the office and laying sod when needed. Well, now that no one has any money and they aren't building any houses, no one is buying sod so they are growing wheat instead. GREAT for them but really, really bad for me since that leaves me with nothing to do. I have been laid off by my own family, lol. I have been looking around since I was kind of expecting this and have come to the conclusion that I am not qualified for ANYTHING, lol. The office experience I have isn't exactly "traditional" office experience and on top of that no one is really hiring. The only thing I can really do is type and I haven't been able to find a job that is straight data entry either. I used to be a nanny but of course there are TONS of nannies out there looking for work and frankly, the pay isn't enough.

Please praythat I find a job soon and send good thoughts my way! I feel like crying right now but I keep telling myself that it won't help and to only think happy thoughts!

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck to you. We were in a business for 11 yrs and because of no houses being built we had to move to another field of work. It is not easy but I think you will find something.

I'm so sorry; this economy is really making life harder. Maybe you could take some courses at the community college while you are job hunting to expand your skill set? Good luck!

Steady employment is difficult these days, but if you are just looking to pay the bills, try working collections or some other field related to debt collection. I know it seems distasteful but debt collection is big buisness right now and certainly better then getting a foreclosure/repo or some other bad situation like that. Also, you don't have to work a job like that forever, just til the sod buisness picks back up or you find something else you like. Hell, go back to school, everyone around here is doing it, the city and medical field are hiring by the boatload if you have some education.

You never know, you may be able to get financial aid from the gov't due to the fact that you lost your job due to the economy. When we had a business go out of business here in my town, all those that lost it got federal aid...check in to it, it can 't hurt.

Good luck! I am also looking for work.. and it really sucks trying to find a steady, decent paying job in today's economy. I'll cross my fingers for both of us!

Sorry to hear your going through rough times. I'm sure something will come along for you. The medical field is always in need of people and you don't have to go through a ton of schooling to get your foot in that door. A simple cna that takes a few months would get you jobs. There is and always will be a massive call for medical personal.
