Je connais mon francais et terrible, mais quand j'etais dan l'ecole, j'etais parle Francais tres bien.

anyone feel like chatting conversationally in French and correcting my grammar?

i'm sooooooo in need of practice.

Je deteste le francai. I learnt it for a few years, and all I can remember are the basics and a song which I can sing but not write!!! "Il ete un dam tartine." or something like that... I am horrible at it. Good luck on your search! Hope you get lots of practise!

haha the only thing i remember from my six years of french lessons is "Je suis desolee!"

oh and how to count to ten.i went to vanuatu last year and while in a taxi the driver asked if i spoke french bcoz he couldn't speak english very well. so i rattled off the few things i knew and he talked really fast and i had no idea...

hehe I took my little sister and some neighbours trick or treating, and an old man who answered at this one house was like wha...!? cause he'd never heard of the frase "trick or treat" or at least couldn't understand it! I had to explain... very slowly... I can't remember much but in the end he must have given the kiddies something, because I said mercy and he was thrilled! haha

Do you have any idea how long that took me to write out? Conjugating in my head is awful.

I understand French better than I speak it. The joys of growing up with French grandparents on both sides.

Although i do not know the original intent of the song, it's now used to teach the body parts to students learning French. When you say the part of the body you're going to pluck, you point at it.

I've always wondered how you plucked a bird's eyes (originally in the song). Or, why it had hands (in our classroom version of the song). But, you know. The song served its purpose for me.

Of course, the never explained what it meant. . .you just gradually figured it out once you learned the other words. . .

I remember learning it in french a long time ago, I think it was mainly used because its so easy to learn LOL. I remember seeing on youtube, a parrot that sang this. I thought that was hilarious, considering the song is about a bird LOL

"Il ete un dam tartine." I wasn't reffering to Alouette! The title of the poem I learnt is "Il ete un dam tartine" and it's about all kinds of delicious deserts. Maybe I should have learn Alouette... I needed all the help I could get!
