Yes, I have been in contact with Terri and she is offering the mag to Australia for the same as you have quoted to Canada. I just want her to double check to be sure there are no glitches. Is this mag monthly or bi-monthly?

OMG, I HAVE to have the current issue! There is an article about the 3 cutest baby birds and a quaker is one of them. There is an excerpt here:

I have 90% decided to add a quaker to my family (was tossing up between a quaker and a conure), but the quaker's intelligence and charm really appeals to me.

If I get the subsription now, will they start me with the April issue?

I love my quaker. He is totally nuts, full of personality and a riot. He laughs all day long, thinks he's bullet proof and will take on all comers (he has the battle scars to prove it).

As for Bird Talk magazine, being a long time subscriber, you should probably know this: after about a year, maybe two, you'll begin to notice that many of the articles are reprints. So, if you subscribe for 2 years, you'll pretty much be set for 5 years. Its the ads that fill the thing up and since I buy more junk that anyone on this planet, I'm a sucker for anything new. Its probably the best magazine for bird lovers around, but it could definitely use an update. JMHO

Nancy, I just KNOW there has to be a reason why everytime I do one of those "What kind of parrot are you?" quizzes, I come up as a quaker! I must have been one in a former life! I am really looking forward to getting one at the bird show in May. I was at a small bird sale last Sunday and met a really good breeder who seems to really care about her birds and she uses the same AV I do. She had 3 there and has 3 more at home which aren't quite ready yet. I'll be travelling the last 2 weeks of April so I didn't want to buy a new bird beforehand.

About the ads....just what I need, more excuses to buy stuff that will cost a fortune to ship to Australia! :eusa_wall

The postage price for foreign subscriptions is $18 per year, for an additional $36 US funds(two years). That's $63.97US. It is still a savings of one year, or $28.

Lisa, yes, Terri emailed me back to tell me about the postage. I went ahead and ordered it and specifically asked to start with April, I can't check emails from work (company blocks access) so will have to wait until I get home. I just want to see the baby quakers!

Orrrrrrr, you can go get 2 yrs of Bird Talk off Ebay for $13.98 including shipping and then just send the sanctuary $5 and you are still ahead of the game.They also have Bird Times, 2 yrs. same price.
