Awe Lissa, gee wiz, thanks!

Keev,
Actually, yes, I do live in Phoenix/Scottsdale. I am in Phx with a Scottsdale zip code, so you really were asking about me, LOL!

There are many, many many bird store out in this area. Some better than others, but I have to say, all the birds look great. I do have a few issues with some of the stores out here as they will sell, and prefer to sell you an unweaned baby. Just not my thing, but to each his own.

the thre main ones I like to go to are:

Flight of the Phoenix, on Camelback Rd and Central. I love the owner, she is a hoot, and has been at this for about 3 million years. All of her birds come from Rick Jordan ( he has written several books on Aviaculture)

Chirp and Dales, on Union Hills and 16th St. (don't get yout Ave's mixed up with your St.'s (Streets east side, Avenues West side) Big bright store, lots of birds (depending on the time of year, lots of macaws)

Bird Bratz, Shea Blvd and 32st. Small but nice. I have been there a few times. nice birds, not much in supplies.

I also like to go to another store that has every thing I need, but of course it is much farther away. It is on Bell Rd, just the other side of the I17 (I think 7th Ave) and of course for the life of me, I can't think of the name. (what do you want, it is 7 in the morning and I am barely awake.LOL)

There is also a Bird show here in town this weekend down on McDowell Rd. some where that I am infact planning on going to on Sunday.

Hope some of this helps you. feel free to contact me for more info if you like.

I would have written you more in pm but I have not figured out how this board works yet. there is so much to figure out. Thanks by the way, this is a nice site.

John

Keev,

One of the first things I do when I hit a new town (tho it isn't often) is grab the telephone book in the hotel room, and spend a few bucks on a city map ( makes a great souvenier as well!). Hubby and I once spent an entire week in the Tampa Fla area visiting bird stores...I had the phone book in my lap, and the map on top!!

I LOVE the names of the stores by the way! I'd LOVE to visit a store called Chirp and Dales!! How clever is that?!

Becuz I love ya Keev, I tracked down a website or two for ya..

John,

if you scroll all the way down and look on the left hand side of the text box, you will see a 'post reply' box under it..that will give you a new text box to type a reply in. The one you are using on right hand side will always include the text from the message..it comes in handy if you want to specifically reply to a previous post, but if you just want to be 'general', use the reply button on the left..it will save you time so you don't have to delete all the text above your reply.

AND, if you want to add something else, you can use the 'edit' key right next to it without having to add a new post- you can put it right in the original message. This concludes our birdboard newbies lesson for the morning! LOL

Have a good day hon!

Bird Bratz??

What happened to Brid Bratz? The best bird store in Phoenix. I for one will miss them. I had only a short time getting to know them since I'm a new brid owner but was able to tell the loved the birds. WHAT HAPPENED??
