David:
I don't know if you are aware of this, but Will and I have owned anb built frame up custom cars and street rods for over 30 years. We currently only have one on the road, a little deuce coupe, flamed with a really big engine. Here's photo of the 32. Its the black flamed coupe. I had a lead sled, 1947 Chevy convertible that was my daily driver when I worked in a trim shop in Annapolis, Maryland. It was baby blue with a rolled and pleated white interior. We also built that one frame up. I turned wrenches with Will and he and I did everything but the paint. I even did the rag top. In fact, it was the first of many, many tops I installed during my upholstery years. I later owned my own shop Stitch In Time until I was diagnosed with cancer in 1990. THE OUTLAW

Sure did. We believe in Chevy power (LOL). Mine had a 350 and Will's has been so altered I can't even remember the stats. I can remember one week that we were planning to a 3 day rod run in the mountains. We decided to replace my Chevy's old 283 engine with the new 350. We stayed up for 30 hours doing the engine swap, grabbed a few hours sleep then decided to take her out on a test run. We got 2 miles from home, and the new engine over heated. We were clueless as to what was wrong, brought her home and checked everything out. That's when we noticed water in the block. We pulled in out and replaced the old 283. After we tightened everything up we took her back out. Again, the damn car overheated. Now we were really stumped!
Turns out, the torque wrench was bad. :eusa_wall We hadn't been able to tighten the heads sufficiently. Once we replaced the wrench, everything was fine. :eusa_clap Sooooo, we once again pulled the engine. We put the 350 back in and it was a dream after that. However, we were totally exhausted. We had done 3 engine swaps in 38 hours, and were about to head off for a a 3 hour drive. How we got there, I don't really know. We slept a lot that weekend. THE OUTLAW
