Red face Pretty Boy my Cocktiel

Pretty Boy was always with Peppe the other cockatiel do you think he realizes that Peppe is really gone? For the most part he seems ok but, sometimes he flies around and I think he is looking for him than he seems to be content to just be around us. What things do you do when a bird looses his partner. The two cockatiels's were always together. Anything in particular that would help make him feel better I will do. We give him extra attention to try to help..... Let me know I appreciate any advise. As long as he's eating well and not plucking or anything, I wouldn't worry about it. He's probably just enjoying the extra attention.

Sorry about Peppe...

Red face Thanks

I think for the most part he's ok he's eating and now is getting along with Cocoa my mini McCaw before he was a little jealous of Cocoa because Peppe liked them both. Now he seems to be getting chummy with Cocoa. Thanks for writing. Hey if you know of any food to deffinitely not let near the birds please let me know. I heard about the grapes with Parrots but, anything you can think of please tell me I'm trying to read alot. About birds and nutrition. Have a great evening. Hugs Reba the Roto4

Avocado, chocolate, sweets, salty foods, oily/greasy foods, caffeine, alcohol, seed pits, uncooked meat, un-cleaned foods, and food that has come into contact with your mouth.

Oh, and macaws do not mix well with dusty birds (a.k.a. cockatoos, cockatiels, greys...) as over a period of time, if the air is not kept fresh and clean, the dust can cause respiratory problems. If you keep windows open/have an air purifier, and keep things washed/wiped down, then it wouldn't be a major problem. Just so you know incase...
