I bought some stuff for my fids

While in Toowoomba last week, I bought a stainless steel electric frypan and gave my teflon one to my friend. I told her why I was getting rid of it even though it was only purchased last August and she still wanted it (she has no birds, just 3 cats). I also bought a non-teflon iron as well. My teflon iron was down stairs anyway, but it can't be good for us to breathe in the fumes either!! So the non stick iron has been given the boot now too

Do you know how hard it is to buy anything non stick now a days?? I looked in kmart, big w and target in town here, then while in Toowoomba I checked out all the stores and could only find 1 stainless steel electric frypan in all the stores and that was Myers - so I bought it and then spotted the iron, so I grabbed it too.

Then we hit the pet shops and I found a couple of coooool toys for Bo and Skye - so I bought them too. One is a big rope and wood chew toy which I got for Bo and the other was a cube with holes in it so I can put treats in it for Skye to find. I also bought 2 bird kebabs (chrome) to put their veges etc on for something different and a mineral perch for Skye.

I also bought myself a new skirt and a jacket, that were on a "big" sale. I really should not have, but they were just too cheap.

Great Vankarhi! I have yet to give up my teflon, but the kitchen is on the other side of the house, and everyone is aware of the "rules" and what is to be done if a pan should be overheated. Still scares me, but then again, I can't live in a bubble either. I would love to buy like a $400 set of nice pans that aren't teflon, but alas that can't be at the top of my priority list at the moment, in the meantime, all precautions are taken.

I hate shopping, but can't resist sales either! I'm not quite as bad as my sister though,.... she buys stuff onsale even if she doesn't need it, doesn't want it, and will never use it! :aiwebs_01 :eusa_wall

Ok what does Toowoomba mean in USA

I don't know what is funny about the word Toowoomba Does it mean something over there? It is a quite a big country town/city in the south eastern part of Queensland. Much bigger than the town I live in and the town I shop in too. I do not mean to be nasty or anything, but maybe i have missed something (and I love to have a good laugh too even at my own expense), so share the joke with us humble Aussies (maybe other aussies know the joke too).

I had already many many years ago swapped to stainless steel pots from Aluminium, so just needed the electric frypan, which I bought for $130.00 on special. The iron was on $20.00 (just a cheapy). I actually do not normally go shopping for clothes etc, but had planned on buying pet stuff and the frypan from "TOOWOOMBA" because the shops are much better down there.

Just for a laugh again - "TOOWOOMBA"

Please "explain" for me

:icon_mrgr Toowoomba :icon_mrgr The word does not mean anything, it just kinda rolls off your tongue in a funny sounding kinda way. I remember when I was in grade school one of our teachers asked us to write on a piece of paper all the "funny" sounding words that we could think of. One of my words was "Englebert Humperdink". If I had known about Toowoomba I would have put it down too. LOL

Yup, that name just rolls off your tongue so well! Not too many names like that around here either but I have a good one.

There's actually a town I pass by when driving back home that is called "Saint-Louis du Ha!Ha!" with the exclamation marks and all!!! I always swore I would look up the story behind that name but still never have. Needless to say, my husband and I still giggle and point out the sign every time we drive by!!!

Oh ok now I get it. Alrighty then how about these for names

BARMUNDOO
NAGOORIN
UBOBO
MANY PEAKS (ok that one is not as good)
BILOELA
YEPPOON
PINKENBAR (may be spelt wrong)
YAAMBA

The first 4 names are little tiny country towns in my area (Nagoorin has only 10 students at the school - primary school, no high school). My parents used to own a small farm there a few years ago.

I will stop there and let you guys rest your laughing muscles now I could probably go on, but I won't.

Oh one last one, I have some good Kiwi friends (from New Zealand) and their surname is GRUBB. Whenever I mention this name to my friend Deb, she just roars in laughter, does it have the same effect on you guys

Lets see ..............."GRUBB"..............

I am sorry, but when I am in a good mood, I just can't help myself. I have a very warped sense of humour, some of my friends say I am "sick" or "stupid" or something like that anyway. LOL Just lucky they still love me.
