Tiki and Vankarhi meet

Just singing (oops I meant signing) in, to let you know I made it home safe and sound.

It was lovely to meet a BB person in the flesh. I had no difficulty recognising Tiki (and I don't think she had trouble recongising me). We went to a big pet shop in Wishart in Brisbane. I saw a bird shower perch and almost bought it, but it was $60.00 and I reckon my hubby could make it for much less than that.

Skye's wolf whistling was embarressing but funny and we were in fits of laughter, especially when the woman standing outside the lingurie shop (checking out sexy bras and undies) looked at me (thinking I whistled at her) and I am standing there with Skye in her travel cage in a shopping trolley saying "no, no, it is the bird" while pointing to Skye. Not sure if she believed me. Then a young couple walked past and Skye decided to wolf whistle loudly just as the guy was level with me. He tried to look sideways at me and Tiki and I were just cracking up laughing.

I was very tired after having been awake since 1.30am, to drive to Brisbane and get Rhianna to volleyball training by 9am. It took me just over 6 hours to get there-having breakfast at a Macdonalds restaurant by 08.00am. I had about 1 hour sleep before meeting Tiki and hitting the shops. I did not do much shopping as I did that 2 weeks before in "TOOWOOMBA" (just thought I would emphasise that word, since it makes you guys laugh) I spent $100 on the birds while in Toowoomba and bought a SS frypan and a non teflon iron also, hence not much spending money in Brisbane. I am also going to Melbourne with Rhianna in December for the Nationals School Cup, so I plan on hitting the pet shops down there

Kareoke would have been more fun if there was not a big wait to sing a song. I also thought there was a "no smoking" law in public places now, but the room was smoke filled and we went home stinking of cigarettes. Plus I was very tired and my little girl (she is 5'10", but only just turned 15) had a bad headache and was sore and tired from 7 hours of hard training. She is getting ready for the Nationals in Adelaide next month.

It was lovely to meet you Tiki and next time I will try to be not so "tired"

I must also add, because I take Skye with me most of the time, people are starting to recognise ME (or more really Skye). While Tiki and I were sitting in the shopping centre having a well earned cuppa, with our birds on our shoulders, a lady came over to us (remembering I am a 6 hour drive south of my home, in a city I do not really know) and said to me "what are you doing here", I am thinking, OMG, you have mistaken me for someone. Then she said something to make me realise she knew me from volleyball and was in TOOWOOMBA, 2 weeks before, so I said "was it me or the bird you recognised?" It was me, as her daughter was a member of the same volleyball team (she was a senior, but now in USA studying under a volleyball scholarship, while Rhianna was a junior). Some of the girls actually recognise Skye, then say to Rhianna oh yes you are the one with the bird. Rhianna pretended to be offended and said "oh, so it is not my talent that you remember, it is the bird"

Crebain, I will make it even easier for you to picture that....with a few pictures! Tracey and I met in the south side of Brisbane. She had her beautiful Ekkie, Skye and I brought Chaska in a flight suit and leash. We had a great time wandering around the mall and attracted quite a bit of attention. Skye kept wolf whistling and causing people to turn around and stare at us. It was especially funny when we were in a lingerie store and she was wolf whistling and there were all these ladies checking out the sale on scanties! We stopped for coffee and the birds on our shoulders attracted a lot of attention once again. Around this time, Chaska figured out how to wriggle out of the flight suit and made her bare-assed nekked appearance right there in the mall in front of everyone! I was mortified! :icon_eek: I quickly redressed her and told her she was not to do that again, :eusa_naug as well brought up young Quakers should not behave like that. Well she did it again.....so much for family values!

Check out my new Fid (third pic)....well trained and doesn't eat much! I especially like how they label him a cockatiel when he looks like a sulpher crested cockatoo! He is pretty funny, he sings, twirls around and you can record things in your own voice and he repeats it! And he NEVER poops!

Then I went home for a bit to take Chaska home and change and we went to a Karaoke club. The place was packed and we had to wait forever to sing. Tracey and her lovely young daughter, Rhianna sang a duet: "Midnight Special" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. They both have lovely singing voices! :eusa_clap Then we had to wait for a contest with 9 people of various singing talents and then it was my turn. I sang "If You're Not In It For Love" by Shania Twain. I ain't no idol, but at least people didn't start running for the door! We had a great time and are looking forward to doing it again.....I have been Googling song lyrics and practicing!
