Unhappy To close to home!

My son just called me. He had to take his live in girlfriend to medical clinic because she is so sick. swab turned up positive for the swine flu! She is a teacher. Doctor warned him he was next. I worry because he has had pneumonia twice before. His girlfriend is a sweet person, I hope she weathers this well and recovers quickly. I hope my son doesn't get it.

oh no, i hope your son doesn't get it and his girlfriend recovers, too!

I'm also thinking about the children she teaches.. :S i know the girl who sits next to me in science class just recovered from the swine flue and amonia at the same time!

That scares me. I hate to hear about it in Maryland. I just found out yesterday that kids at a local school have it. I might start wearing my mask an gloves lol

In my area the schools have been closed since Tuesday of last week. They had a few confirmed cases and are taking precautions to keep everyone out until those kids recover, hoping to prevent the spread of the flu the best they can. Its pretty creepy to see the scrolling on the bottom of the screen saying how many schools are closed!!

Well I wish her and your son the best. I started with a sore throat today, but I don't have any other symptoms, so i'm trying to think positive :)

Thank you for the well wishes. Failurebydesign, it is very bad here in Md. We have had several deaths. The latest was a 18 yo college student. Very sad.

We have had lots of swine flu in our area. My son had it about a week ago, he is 7. Doctor said he is seeing about 30 cases a day. :( Luckily it is not as bad as the normal flu if you are healthy without other issues.

Hope your family is well soon.
