Bear Attack

Apparently a bear attacked his plane while parked in a remote field in Alaska. He had not cleaned out the inside after a long fishing trip and the bear smelled it.

Typical Alaska wild frontierism, he had 2 new tires, 3 cases of Duct Tape and several rolls of cellophane delivered. Then went about repairing the plane so he could fly it home.

Gutsy, to say the least.

And a good thing he wasn't inside. Now you know why every bush pilot in Alaska carries a high powered rifle.

Wow... you really can fix anything with Duct Tape!

That guy had some serious balls to fly that thing, lol. I have flown small aircraft before... similar to that... and i'll tell you that duct tape is probably just as secure as the sheet metal on the body lol.

That is really scary! I just saw a mythbusters where they made a sailboat out of duct tape, it sailed great and did not leak at all. It really is amazing what you can do with duct tape.

Duct tape is something I get my dad for Christmas every single year and have for the past 7 or so years. He is never disappointed & always has a use for it =)

The only thing you really can't use duct tape for is taping ducts. Sounds stupid, but the adhesive on duct tape is not water proof. When you are dealing with piping hot and cold air around, specifically the cold air will cause condensation on the outside of the ductwork, and over a period of a few years, it will eat away at the adhesive and you will have leaks all over your attic. So I doubt it would last very long on the plane or on the boat.
