My husband is up to something bird related!

So my husband is at work, and I am sitting here working on homework and laundry. He asks me what questions I would ask a person rehoming their bird, and I gave him the gammit of questions I would ask and have asked several people before. He said ok and got off the phone. Well I had asked him a week or so ago about some GCC and he was so adament about not getting them, he said I could get a CAG and that was it. So whatever, well I get on CL like I always do and there is a CAG up for rehoming and the owner is looking for the best home possible for her bird. The bird is 1 1/2 and she doesnt say much else. So I called my husband back and asked him if he had seen this bird on CL and he says he has no idea what I am talking about. But I know my husband and I know he is up to something. I can just feel it. And although he has been up to it for a little while, I think an opportunity just fell in his lap and this is why he has been leary about any other birds. We shall see what happens, he is really good at keeping secrets and surprising me with stuff. So I may not know until I wake up on day to a bird in my living room.

I think that is pretty cool if he is going through that effort for a new fid!

I would give him his space, and let him surprise you (remember, there are a LOT of men who wouldn't bother with such an effort.... just enjoy! )

:) <thumbs-up>

I am trying to. I just hate surprises especially something big like this. I like to be prepared so that I can plan for it, like a vet visit and all of that.

I am not even sure if this is why he was asking, it could have been one of those other sites too. But I don't think he visits them as often as he does CL. But he is definately up to something bird related. He keeps calling me with more questions.

You're SOOOO lucky to have a bird lover for a husband. It will be next to impossible to find someone that loves all the same pets as me, what with the fish, birds, dogs, rabbits, snakes, creepy crawlies, iguanas! lol.... It's going to be a long arduous search.

I don't know if he is the bird lover quite like I am but he knows its my thing so likes to learn and is definately open to them as pets, he even has his favorites. Something that will take a while to save for (he wants a Hy).

Awww I know how long you've been waiting for a bird and how bad you've wanted it! I hope you get the opportunity to have this little guy (or girl!).

Be careful what you wish for lol. I wished for the same thing! Haha...my SO is more bird-crazy than I am. I've got a 4 bird limit. Maybe 5 if there's a bird that's in dire need of a good home. That's my limit with my work schedule. He's lucky and makes his schedule. Ahhh the joys of being an independent contractor! But he'll always ask "What would you think about an amazon? Another conure? A mini-macaw? A pet duck? etc" And I have to say NO.

Lol, i'll certainly keep that in mind. I guess it would be good to have someone who "liked" the pets but could say no at the same time... I guess as long as they are cool with a few I can be happy.
