I've NEVER seen Cookie cleep ANYWHERE other than he happy hut. She's OBSESSED with the thing! not in a territorial aggressive way, just a, i'd rather die than sleep anywhere else way! hehe!

Toc switches places.. usually he stays on whatever perch is closest to the top of the cage, and sometimes he sleeps ON his hut.. lately, though, he's been sitting in it, and its ADORABLE!

All I know is when I turn off the telly Radar says 'Good Night' as I pass by his cage. I give him a kiss and say good night. I don't go back and peak in on them but I go to bed to a quiet house. If anything it is my dogs that will make noise.

Abbey changes it up. She likes to sleep on her swing, rope perch or her sandy type perch.

I love the chubes. I might have to get some for Abbey

That just made me grin from ear to ear! I love stories of your flock.

Stewie sleeps in his happy hut (wherever it happens to be... I try to switch it around). Mika sleeps on the highest perch closest to the corner where I usually sit on my computer. If I move or lower the perch too much, she gets very upset. It doesn't have to be the same perch, and it doesn't have to be in the exact same spot, but it needs to be high up and close to where I'm sitting... otherwise she spends all evening climbing around restlessly. Or, she sits on her food bowl and poops in it.

My cinnamon GCC Indy always sleeps in the same spot each night, which is up against his/her cuddle buddy that sits in one of the corners of his cage. He/she has pretty slept with his cuddle buddy since I first got for him/her.

I've always seen my mom's GCC sleeping in their happy huts too, though once or twice I have seen her GCC Shorty sleeping on top of his/her happy hut. I would love to get a happy hut for Indy. Maybe he/she will get one for Chirstmas from Santa lol.

Btw Pippy, wonderful pics of your African Greys! Even though the cages are in the way, They look so beautiful! : ).

My Hahns sleeps in her happy hut and my cockatoo sleeps on a big swing at the back of her cage. The lovebirds sleep all over the place. Sascha, TAG sleeps on a concrete perch at the back of his cage and Bailey, CAG will sleep anywhere that strikes his fancy.

I honestly never thought of a chube for a parrot. Riley would probably love it!

Interesting reading everyone! So they are almost all creatures of habit then!

I wonder if it's the same in the wild, if they have a particular tree, and branch within that tree, where they sleep??

For anyone interested in the Chubes but doesn't know where to buy them from, if you search for 'Chube' on the forum I'm pretty sure I've posted somewhere with links to online retailers in North America who sell them. I'm in the UK and can buy them from several pet shops here.

I know quite a few people over here who have them for their birds, big and small, and they all love them!

This is where I first got the idea from, you can see pics of birds of various sizes in their Chubes..

Toy making ideas

Thanks for all your replies! Very insightful!

Certainly if a bird has a nest, they would be very particular about returning to their own nest and not hanging out in someone else's.

I always sleep in the same place too. It's just habit/comfort. (I don't just mean I always sleep in the bedroom, because that's where my bed is; I have a large bed, and I always sleep in the same corner of the bed.)
