Asulli's Big NEWS!!!!!
O.K. so here is the big news. --- You all know I am winded but read on!!!!
Our dear friend Anna, whom I know everyone on this board respects and admires for what she does for our feathered friend, put a post not too long ago updating us on some of her babies. My response to some of the babies she listed was that if I could I would go to meet them! Sooooo....as fate has it....Anna responded saying that she was coming to Houston! What are the odds people!!!! Well, it turns out the person that is at the Sanctuary that my husband and I are volunteering at happens to be a friend of Anna's... and we are glad that she saw the love and connection we feel for these beautiful God sent creatures. (My husband and a bare breasted Cockatoo fell in love there). Well, which one of the ones below we will not know because it is up to Shugy, Chicky or Ziggy to pick us. All we know is that we are so looking forward to meeting them all and hope that one of them just falls in love with us as we have all really fallen in love with them. The kids will be interviewing us on Saturday and boy are we getting ready making sure we know ALL about their needs. I have a pages and pages and pages of research!!!!! Ziggy, the Yellow Collard Macaw - Is he not just so cute--- look at that beautiful beak!!!! and he loves "itsy bitsy spider" which I must say I sing with ZEST! and he loves to dance...I am Cuban it’s in my blood! Maybe we will be that right Mum and Dad for him. Ziggy.jpg Chicky, Goffin Cockatto - Full of life and attituted - just like me! (check), loves entertainment (check) loving and affectionate when she finds the right one (check) jealous of other cockatoos in the family - I promise she will be the only Cockatoo in our family should she chose us! -- Chicky.jpg Shugy, Umbrella Cockatoo - Baby boy who is Sweet now, but what happens when he grows up...Ahhh the excitement of it all! Boisterous, outgoing, and just a little pushy - who would not fall in love with those traits! Shyggy.jpg So....Keep your fingers crossed and hopefully we will be worthy of one of these cutie pies. We already have a little something for each one of them...o.k. so we are bribing! What kid does not like something new? My husband and I are going to be parronts again if it is for us. When we first got married we said we wanted 6-8 children. God blessed us with 2 wonderful human beings who have given us 4 little humans! So this is the next best thing! and best of all --- we love those years when our little ones depended on us for their safety and well being. We loved those years when we had to be patient and teach them with love and understanding. To us that is how we see our feathered babies. When they bite or are a little naughty (which is very rare -- there goes those rose colored glasses we always have on when it comes to our babies) We try as best as we can to show them that love, patience and understanding can conquer all. Maybe not the way we expect it to be, but the way it is suppose to be.

It's all about who loves me! Well really us! I have a great husband who is wonderful. Sometimes I do not know if he does it because he loves it or if it is because it makes me so happy!
We have been together for 32 years. I did marry my best friend. It is wonderful when you meet someone who makes one complete. I think that is why our birds are so happy! And we do the same thing that we did when the kids where small....if there is a disagreement we go into the garage! We cannot imagine making any of our fids sad!

Exciting!!!
 See, now I would be the person that would say "Can you hold the 'too for me and step back two feet please?"   I think the U2 is a beauty, though! Anna is certainly a WONDERFUL person! Every being that happens to come into contact with her is very lucky..human and non-human alike! Congrats for your future addition...whichever one that may be!

That is so exciting!!
 I am so happy for you and your husband and I know you will make whatever bird you choose (ahem, whichever chooses YOU!) VERY happy indeed!! Cant wait to see pictures of the new baby.Isnt it amazing how fate works?? I truly believe things happen for a reason!

That is SUPER exciting!!! Omg so jealous! (don't tell Arwen lol) congrats and good luck... Although I'm sure you won't need any they might all fall in love with you! Who knows maybe you'll have 3 new additions :p you did after all say you wanted 8 kids :p

I did want 8 kids! But I had the tax deductions! and I they would have been able to share rooms. These guys are picky about who they share there room with!!! I wonder if I could get Social Security #'s for them? What a great idea!

I'm still sincerely trying to figure out why the heck some folks treat me like a celebrity.
 I'm just an ordinary person, flawed like the rest if my species, and do not view myself as any greater than any of the people I work with daily. Alina - wait for the shock - those who meet me in real life probably want to know where the REAL Anna is as I am relatively blind and my disability is very obvious, making some people even a little uncomfortable when they first meet me (I get lots of uncomfortable looks from new clients until they get used to me and have had to learn not to let that distract me as much as it is distracting my guest.) That and I'm a bit ungainly in person, but I guess we all have our issues. I used to be very socially awkward before the birds forced me to develop new communication skills that I needed to work with so many people every day. And oh - the remarks I get about being so young.   Alina - I have one question for you... Do you think you're having Twins? -Anna
