I'm a homeowner!

I am now in debt for 30 years! I am the owner of a brand new 3/2.10 house on Portland's close-in east side! I luuurve my house- stainless steel and granite in the kitchen, 2 floors, a fireplace, and best of all, lots of space! I'm still trying to work out the logistics of where the birds will sleep and play. How do you folks with several floors have things worked out?

That is great. I am so happy for you. I can't wait to buy a house one day. But we are waiting till after my hubby retires from the Navy.... (long time).

I am no help on the multiple floors thing. We are in an apartment. Good luck

Thanx, sailorkelly, I appreciate it! I know what the apt situation is like, we're there 'til next weekend. I'll be glad to not hear the neighbor practicing the bass anymore, and the downstairs folks will love me not playing DDR above their heads! The good thing (and bad) about your hubby in the Navy is that you get to see the world (probably moving more often than you'd like) and have great health care! You'll have time for a house later.

Congrats - thats great news! We have playstands downstairs in the living room where we mainly are and the cages are upstairs on the second floor. That way when its bed time for them (9pm for Oli & Emi, 11 for Neko) they can have peace and quiet and we can still watch TV!

Thanks Diljaa and lovelysidney! It sounds like lovelysidney has a set up close to what we are thinking of doing;we would have the big HQ cage downstairs along with their tree perch, play gyms, and possibly other perches set up in the great room. The sleep cages would go upstairs, and then I would take them down in the morning. I wonder how they'll react to the stairs and the extra room- it should be pretty fun!

What? No photos of the new digs?! Ha ha. Would love to see some. I would think that would be the fun part, working out where everything goes! I would try and keep the birds in sleep cages on the same floor you sleep on, and have their main cages/play area whereever your living area/kitchen is. How exciting!
