In 4 days it will Sept 11. I know I don't have to remind any of you what happened on this day 6 years ago.

I think everyone was touched that day in some way. I lost a good friend who worked in the North Tower. I'm sure there are many of us that lost something that day.

I would like to dedicate this thread to all the lives lost, and the lives left behind that day. Tell a story of that day. Share a feeling. Or just read it and move on, but please remember.

Tell your loved ones that you love them everyday. Hug everyone a little tighter. Smile at someone for no reason. Live life like it's your last day.

I remember when I first found out what happened. I woke up in the wee hours of the morning and saw the news clip of the planes crashing into the towers. (I tend to fall asleep with the tv on) I thought at first it was a clip from a new movie and thought the special effects were awesome, should be a great movie; then I went back to sleep.

I woke up later to the morning news, IT WAS REAL!!! Not a movie! I was in total shock! I managed to pull myself together and get to work. I was temping in the CBD (downtown) in accounts. Everyone there was really nice to me because they knew I was originally from the USA and they were worried I might have lost friends or relatives. Thankfully, I didn't and I didn't even know anyone in NYC or DC at the time. There was a tv in the break room and the boss let me go back there to watch the news as it came in. A whole bunch of us watched in shock horror as the towers collapsed. No one really got any work done that day. Everyone was shell-shocked that such a thing could happen. I knew my family was safe, they are all in California and not travellers but I called them anyway. That's what I remember about that day. The world will never be the same again.
