I am so excited

OMG I was just at the sink washing up from the days eating, and Skye is in her cage babbling on, and I am babbling on back to her (as I do) when I said "what's a puppy dog say" and guess what SHE ANSWERED ME!!!!! I am still in shock. I think I surprised her with me actions, as I got so excited. I asked her again and she said it again. Then while typing to tell my friends on TEC and BIRDBOARD, she was saying "eeh eye eeh eye eeh eye eeh eye" so I sang Old Macdonald and she said "woof woof" again. The dog is one of the farm animals I sing also. I am still in shock. I know she has used words in context before, but I have to admit, I probably thought it was more a coincidence more than anything. but this was definite. She has said a couple more times since and occassionally says "what" then I say it again and she says "woof woof". This is all in the last 10 mins. I am shocked.

guess she will be playing scrabble and monopoly soon................better yet, I will put her on one of those tv game shows Clever girl. Mummy is proud of her. It is like hearing your child say it's first word, or watching it take it's first step.

Guess I will calm down soon.

That is wonderful!!!!!! Yeah Skye!!! I know how proud you are...Bosco has only said "hello" accidentally in his babblings a couple of times & the way we act when he does you would think he was Einstein LOL! The only thing he says in context so far is "uh-oh" which is when he drops a toy and I don't come running to pick it up for him. I didn't even realize that when he drops his toy I always say "uh-oh" and then pick it up to give it back to him.He has me trained so much better than I am doing with training him LOL!
Congrats again & give Skye a big hurray from us!

That really is fantastic. Not all birds ever reach that level of interactive vocalization. Congratulations!

Thank you so much! I am in love with that bird, that's to be sure. It's funny how we can love our own fids so much but still envy other's. Well, maybe not envy, as that's kind of a negative word, but really appreciate. If I could have any Cockatoo as a member of my flock, it would be a Galah.

We've been blessed with some beautiful babies!
