We did it again

Well CrazyBirdLady and I went to the Bird Festival In Portland Oregon on Saturday. We ended up buying two Silver Lovebirds. Then when we got home we contacted the breeder. She's going out of business do to medical reason. There were two more breeding pairs there that we wanted but as I stated earlier we weren't going to bring that much money, no checks or credit cards to keep us from buy all that was there. Well after talking to her we put a hold on the two proven pairs that had not sold. We'll be picking them up after the first of the month. There is another bird fair and we'll be splitting a booth because we'll both be selling our chicks at that time. (please see the Bird Club & Bird Fair Link for more information) At that time we'll pick them up.

Here are a few pictures of the White Faced Silvers we bought. They are a unrelated bonded pair. Both are about 12 weeks old.

Nice Lovies. I like the coloring on the wing feathers.

Beauties!!

We have a bird fair coming up October 30th, in Orlando.
I want a pair of Masked Lovies, The ones I have my eye on are a dusky blue with black faces.

Those Silvers are quite the pair though....

I saw a beautiful muation I have never seen before- anyone know what its called? It was the black masked lovies, these guys were in a cage with the blue mutation of the black masked, except instead of being blue, some of these guys were BLACK. So, black head, and wings, white breasts. Anyone ever seen this type of muation before? Whats it called?

It's called a Slate Masked lovebird and it is a blue series masked with two dark factors. They are quite attractive!

Slate Masked Lovebird

I found the photo above on the Mystery Pickles Parrots wesbite.

I wouldn't be able to resist one of those
