Bird Picture

Squeaky does not get a lot of seeds in his diet and what I do feed is organic. When I saw this small treat I could not refuse. He's looking at this treat as if to ask "What am I gonna do with this?"
He nibbled on it for 3 days and he only finished a 1/3 of it until I disposed of it.

Very cute!

My cockatiel used to love those seed-on-a-stick treats. I stopped giving them to her when I converted her to pellets. I'm afraid to give her another, because I can't control the quantity and I'm afraid she's snack on it exclusively and ignore her pellets. She gets seeds mixed with her pellets, so I guess we just have to pass on treat :)

Thanks Spinnergirl when I saw the picture i was like WOW thats really big poor bird.
I hear you there Alika, converting Squeaks to pellet was not to bad for me he likes them, might be why he did not pig out on the treat. I thought I saw a receipe for stick treats made from pellets but I can not locate it darn it.

First of all i want to say that your lovie is soo cute and that pic is adorable (the treat is bigger than Squeaky!)

My lovie devours stick treats like that but when i had my budgie she was much more timid and was scared of big stick treats at first, it took her forever to get used to them, but then she got used to them and would eat them. It would still take her forever to it them though. Just give your bird some time thats all. With Bubbles, my lovebird, though i have to leave the treat in only for a little while and then take it out otherwise she'll just eat the whole treat at once. It was a lot easier with my budgie!

What an absolute adorable picture! And yes, the treat stick is bigger than the baby! I converted all of my guys to pellets as the seeds were making them a bit ornery, and goodness knows they are ornery enough!
Great picture; thanks for sharing!
