Some of the other lovebirds in the cage went in and hurt the chicks... It's possible though that the adults became territorial/jealous, so went and attacked the chicks. It has happened in the past, and there are other unexplained reasons as to why they do it.

If you can handfeed them I'm sure they'll make it through!

This is what I had posted before placing the pictures.
they seem to be responding to the antibiotic ointment and to the feeding process. 2 of them have red eyes. thanks for your reply.

my kiwi had 4 beautiful babies, for her first time.
I took a pic. of them I was so happy and 7 days later after seeing them for the first time I notice kiwi, nana and rainbow( all adult love birds) had blood on their peak and I was so sad I imagin they had killed all the babies.
so I checked on them and for my surprise they were alive but not well.
so I rushed to the pet store and the person that check on them said they are very weak but that if I can handle all 4 to look over they may have a chance to servive. so i'm giving it a try and maybe with some advice from all of you I can make it. please help me with some advice i'd appriciate it...:sad
: why whould the adults hurt them this way?...

I think this is some times common for the mother to peck at her babies, I think it's a protection issue, basically she's thinks they are invading her territory. I'm curious why you didn't take them to an AV? How are they doing, what did the pet store person say you should do besides take them away from the mother?
