So I've decided to get a lovebird....

After a debate between adding either a quaker or a lovebird to my humble family, I've decided that a lovie would be the best fit. I have my list of breeders so now I guess I'm off to make LOTS of phone calls and write BUNCHES of emails. I'm soo excited, I can't wait to finally have my little lovie YAY!!

I just got my first reply and I just had to share the pics with you. Aren't they just the cutest things you've ever seen?! They are about 6 weeks in the pics and are now about 10 weeks.

I think it has something to do with those button black eyes in an almost 'flushed' face that takes you heart & you're reduced to ....ahhhhhhhh... articulation. Lovebirds are like semi-precious jewels - the colours are facinating in a small package. Interesting that you're going for the classic peachface look.

Did you see the thread about 'the problem with a big cage(?)' - wasn't the lovebird (peachface too) in the bowl too cute?!

I didn't see that thread. Is it in the lovebird forum? I originally wanted a lutino but their not easy to find and in all honesty color really isn't that important (and I don't want to wait any longer than I have to LOL ). The breeder did say that she also has a seagreen but I didn't see it in either pic, so thats also a possibilty. I haven't decided that those lovies in the pic are the ones that I'll be choosing from yet, but I'll keep you, and everyone else who's interested, posted.

The Grey looking lovie in the picture might very well be the Seagreen the breeder is talking about. It appears to be a what is called a Mauve (meaning it is a blue series lovie with two dark factors). Good luck with whichever sweetie you decide on.

I'm pretty sure that the grey in the pic is a slate. She said that she has normal greens, seagreens, and a slate but you could be right. I'll have to ask her about it. I'm going to head up there sometime next week to check them out. I would go sooner but I just had a death in the family and we're busy making all kinds of arrangments.

haha, thats why I'm taking my mom with me to look at them. I know I'd end up coming home with at least two if I didn't.
