violet factor lovies

Hi all, I'm new.(duh) anyway I have two lovebirds who are dutchblue violets, the youngest of the two has been having some problems with weaning and eating normal food, so the breeder took him back, he is going to the vet on sat and I was told that the vet said the violets tend to have a lot of problems? anyone else hear of this? I hope my little Peanut will be ok.

I have violets and am not aware of any problems with a particular mutation. Neither does or local breeder...

Is your vet an avian vet?

I've heard of other people saying similar things about certain mutations in various birds... in some cases, it IS true (i.e. albinos being more senstive than others as far as light or maybe even food goes), but other's it sounds kind of ridiculous...

We breed violet peachies and there are no "violet only" issues that I am aware of.

You can't personally upload an avatar unless you have a paid account. There is an exception to the rule, but otherwise you can't....
