Question Why does my lovebird want to feed me all the time?LOL

Ok the lovie I have who is pretty bonded to me has desided he wants to regurgitate(sp??) and feed my fingers, my toes, what ever LOL this is pretty funny but I was wondering if I should find a way to stop this behavior, he has never actually spit it on me or anything but he offers. I guess he thinks I'm his mate and I am assuming its a boy because of this bahavior. I don't want him to start trying to have his way with me either lol he hasn't yet but who knows. Any ideas?

He loves you and does consider you his mate :)

Here is a nice article about this behavior and how you can help to minimize it:

Yep, he is showing his love for you and acceptance as his mate. It's natural behavior and you don't want to make a huge fess about it, but it isn't a behavior you necessarily want them doing to you. When one of ours does it, they go back in the cage or on a playstand. Many male lovebirds will also take up feeding a favorite toy or "happy hut" in their cage as their surrogate mate. The behavior can last for a few weeks or a few months. If he does choose a toy to regurgitate to, I suggest leaving it for him to do so, just make sure it's cleaned daily. Removing their "objects of desire" can spurn destructive behaviors, like plucking. Lots of distraction and some new toys to stimulate the mind and beak, instead of just the hormones, can help too.
