Wink Lovebirds

Peaches and Peachy are 4 months old. They were my Mothers Day present from my husband. I wanted one but i got two. The breeder said that they are both females. If they are then they are sisters. I am still taming them. They are my little sweethearts.

Hi Sue,

I'm quite a fan of lovies. We've got a flock of about 70 at the moment. Cute little Green peachies you've got there, but unless the breeder DNA'd them, they are not a mutation that you can be sex-linked, so you might have two hens, two males or male & female. Keep working with them on taming. When they are in a pair, it can sometimes be quite a task to train since they bond to each other and want to run/fly away from you.

Working with them one on one can help tremendously. Take just one lovie into anther room and work on stepping up and just touching. Even for 15 minutes each day will help. You've got to be consistent though, because they've always got their pal to go to and can quickly revert to being "wild".
