Growth on Side of head

Hello everyone,

My 11 year old very loyal and loving lovebird recently has shown a very small growth on the right side of his head. It is starting to show through the feathers and is yellowish in color. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Over the 11 years we've had this bird he has virtually never gotten sick and is still very energetic. He doesnt even seem to notice or pay attention to the little growth and it doesnt seem to hurt him at all.

Any information or opinions would be appreciated.

This could be something as simple as feather cyst or infected feather. Without seeing the growth it is hard to diagnose over the net. Joel here on the list may have a better idea what it could be.

I can tell you love the little guy! I would call an avian vet in the area and ask his opinion. If the vet needs to see the bird take him, doing so will ease your mind as to what the problem is.
