Our New Baby Lovie

We just brought home our new baby lovie--after watching him for almost two months from the time he hatched via internet. Isn't he a cutie? The kids named him Minky. They've decided that our peachfaced lovie named Tiki will be my daughter's pet, and Minky will belong to my son. Of course, mommy is the one who gets to do all the cleaning and feeding, 'cause the kids are only 8 and 4. Hope he gets along with our other lovie. We'll see after the quarantine is up!

The coloring on his back is very similar to my lovebird. Congrats on your addition! :)

Thanks everyone! He is a cutie for sure! The kids and I really love him! We're trying to decide whether or not to keep him flighted. We didn't have the breeder clip his wings, but now I'm having second thoughts. With such young kids I'm afraid the chances of him getting accidentally let out are greater. I know it's better for birdies if they're allowed to fledge before they're clipped. He's about 8 weeks old now. Has he had enough time to fly? Should we clip him now for safety?
