I guess I should have mentioned that if this is the same bird that is doing the beak rubbing, and dancing, courting males tend you yawn quite a bit too. Think it has to do with the head scratching behavior that makes the yawn response happen.

It's a normal stretching behaviour. Most birds yawn. You might try telling him better jokes!
