Wink Nosey hides her beak?

Ok, quick question. Does anyone else's lovies hide their beaks? Nosey, my blue black-masked (is that right?), has started doing this lately. When I look at her, she hides her beak behind something, but still stares at me. And if she sneaks up on me & I see her, then she hides her beak, too. I was thinking maybe this is actually a natural behavior - because "wild colored" black-masked lovies are green w/ bright red beaks. So maybe they learn to hide their beaks so they'll blend into the foliage more & won't be spotted as easily? Nosey is blue with a light pink beak, but it could just be instinct. Anyone have any idea why she's doing this? I mean, she is a really weird little bird, but this is a new weird behavior, lol. Thanks.

Is your Nosey THE Nosey of YouTube fame? I LOVE her YouTube clips!

Honestly? I think that she's acting like a lovebird. The eye-ring species of lovebird (masked, Fischer's, Nyasa and black-cheeked) are reported to be a bit more shy and reserved than their peach-faced cousins. She's likely assessing the situation from the cover of a toy OR she's teaching you to play hide and seek ;)

Nothing to worry about. I don't know why they do it though. Maybe you should rename her Peek-a-boo!

Hehehe, thanks, guys. Yep, my Nosey is THE Nosey on YouTube, lol. I have several vids of her on there, like the one with the penguin toy, LOL! ;P Thanks for saying you love them, hehe. I wasn't worried about her behavior, just curious what's going on in that crazy, little brain of hers, LOL! Cause, she's anything BUT shy, LOL! She likes jumping on your head, looking down at you, & then chirping real loud while throwing her wings out, hehe. And she beats up MJ, too, shhhhh! (I never let them out together, but I made the mistake of bringing her close to his cage, once. I was watching MJ like a hawk, to make sure he was being nice & then Nosey attacked HIM, LOL! He tried to give her a kiss & she bit his tongue! Then she attacked his toe, lol, poor boy. When she's out, she taunts him, so I always have to make sure she doesn't go by his cage, lol.) Anyway, I think I'm just gonna have to chalk it up to her being a weirdo lovie, like you said, Eliza, hehe. Thanks again!
