please help identify breed...

I was told that my pair of lovebirds are Lutino PF. However, all the pics I see of this breed are very brightly colored, yellow and peach/orange. My birds are a VERY pale yellow on the body and VERY pale peach/pink on the face and tail feathers, they also have red eyes. I am having trouble distinguishing exactly what to call them. Is this by chance Creamino PF? They have their first baby(only 1 of 6 eggs hatched) and it's completely pink, it's eyes are opening and they are red as well, and it's fuzzyness is all white. Any help in identifying would be helpful. I did post a pic of the pair in the photo section in the "Main" category, their names are Sonny and Peach and it says rparisan under the photo. Thansk for any help!

Hi, Rachel!

I took a look at the photo and my guess would creamino... There are some more experienced lovebird breeders on the forum who will likely chime in to give you a better idea. In the meantime, you may want to visit the photo library on the ALBS website: African Love Bird Society lovebirds agapornis.

Just to make things easier: when you are referring to the color of a lovebird, it's mutation. If you are referring to the type of lovebird (peach-faced, masked, Fischer's, etc.), it's species. Hope that helps :)

They say there is no true albino in Peachfaced Lovies. I have a red eyed White feathered baby. Parents are both white face slates, Double dark factor. I was told it is a real light creamino. ???

After sommore research, im going with creamino. the very light ones with whiter faces could be blue series. the green series birds arent so light.

I did go to the ALBS website and looked at quite a few pics. The creamino Blue series looked exactly like my birds. Oh, I did forget to mention, now that they are a year old and have a little more color, you can see just the slightest hint of blue/green on the rump area. I am so excited, baby Uno is 2 weeks old today! I can't wait to start handling him(or her?)!

I think that you're right... there are some REALLY pale creaminos out there. I found a photo of one on a website one that looked almost like an albino. Unfortunately, I didn't bookmark the site and have yet to find it :( If I do, I'll post the link here.

Share a photo of the little baby if you can. It would be interesting to see!
