Question Would you pay $150 for a lovebird?

Hi theres a breeder selling a creamino lovie for $150 dollars, the reason for the high price is because there socialized..but i think anyone can socialize their lovie with patience. my questions is would you pay $150 dollars? if yes, why? and if you wouldnt, why?

no, unless it already knew some realy cool tricks, and could talk realy well, but on the other hand, i wouldnt sell my hand raised and socialized lbs for ten times that. they are keepers. seriously i wouldnt pay more than 100 for a really well behaved one. why, you ask? because the going price here is around 40 for untamed and around 65 for a tame one.

i would not buy it as well...regular price for socialized LB around here are about 80...and i would probably pay up to 100 but 150 is pushing it. it would have to be one SPECTACULAR bird.

$150.00 seems a bit high to me for a creamino, hand-raised & socialized or otherwise.

I can understand paying that much or more for an unusual, hard to come by mutation.

No. But maybe the seller is intentionally inflating the price because s/he doesn't really want to sell the baby! Heaven knows I've done that!

I would not pay that much. However, I didn't pay a penny for any of my 4 (now 5) birds. I adoped my cocatiel from a lady I met on freecycle (before they banned listing animals). She had a pair of lovebirds that I fell in love w/ and she said she would let me know the next time they had babies, so...I then adopted 2 lovebirds from her for free. I also rescued a parakeet from someone else on the same site. I love all of my birds and was glad to give them a new home since they were no longer wanted.

Good answers!....she always sells her lovebirds for that much, in her words "there a bit more pricy than lovebirds at the petstore because we brake the lovebird stereotype" meaning most lovebirds are aggressive, which i know is not true.
